Website launched to raise awareness of mental health at work

Earlier this week, Prince William officially launched a new website designed to raise awareness of mental health issues and improve mental well-being in the workplace. New statutory right to paid time off for bereaved parents confirmed

HMRC recovers over £15m in minimum wage underpayments

The Department for Business, Enterprise and Industrial Strategy has released a report containing details of the government’s enforcement of minimum wage underpayments.  It reveals that the arrears identified by the HMRC in 2017/18 was the highest amount of money recovered for the highest number of workers in any year since the National Minimum Wage (NMW) was introduced, with 200,000 workers identified as being underpaid a total of £15.6 million.  Read more…

Childcare Voucher Scheme is coming to an end

The scheme, in which companies can provide up to £55 per week of employee wages as vouchers to assist with childcare costs, is due to close on 4th October 2018. Read more…

Worker fails to prove that high blood pressure precluded him from night shifts

An Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) has dismissed the appeal of a casual worker with hypertension (high blood pressure) after he failed to adequately prove that this condition prevented him from undertaking regular night shifts. Read more…
