Anonymisation is when personal data is rendered anonymous in such a manner that the data subject is not or no longer identifiable’.

The GDPR does not apply to anonymised information. Anonymisation is the process of removing personal identifiers, both direct and indirect, that may lead to an individual being identified. Such as the data subject’s name, address, postcode, telephone number, e-mail address, job title photograph or image, or some other unique personal characteristic.

An individual may be indirectly identifiable when certain information is linked together with other sources of information, including, their place of work, job title, salary, their postcode or even the fact that they have a particular diagnosis or condition.

Once data is truly anonymised and individuals are no longer identifiable, the data will not fall within the scope of the GDPR.

Yes. Egress Switch has a mobile website to enable easy use on a mobile device. There is also an Egress Switch app available in the Apple Store and Google Play.

Yes you can although the help desk currently doesn’t have a WhatsApp account each of our HR Advisors does so if you get the details you can send it via WhatsApp. BUT you must ensure it is sent to the correct number

You can send personal data via WhatsApp because WhatsApp end-to-end encryption ensures only you and the person you’re communicating with can read what’s sent, and nobody in between, not even WhatsApp. Your messages are secured with locks, and only the recipient and you have the special keys needed to unlock and read your messages. For added protection, every message you send has an unique lock and key. All of this happens automatically: No need to turn on settings or set up special secret chats to secure your messages.

Egress have gone to great lengths to ensure they cannot see your information. The Egress Client software encrypts and decrypts your information on your local machine therefore Egress does not have access to it.

On their first use only, recipients will be required to create an Egress account before they can sign in to view the email they’ve received. This is a short and simple process.

Creating an account requires input of an email address and the creation of a password. Once this is done, an activation code will be sent to that email address. Recipients will then be able to sign in. This will allow Egress encrypted emails and documents to be viewed.

Yes. All recipients can view and securely reply to emails sent via Egress Switch from People Based Solutions for free. They will only be charged if they use Egress themselves to send to recipients other than People Based Solutions.

Egress Switch makes sharing information easy by allowing the recipient of a secure email or large file to respond to the sender free of charge as many times as they like assuming the original sender is a paying subscriber.

People Based Solutions uses Egress Switch because it facilitates the secure transfer of emails and documents to non-secure email addresses. This is beneficial when emailing that are not on a secure network, ensuring People Based Solutions meets security and data protection requirements.

Pseudonymisation is the processing of personal data in such a way that the data can no longer be attributed to a specific data subject without the use of additional information, as long as such additional information is kept separately and subject to technical and organizational measures to ensure non-attribution to an identified or identifiable individual”

Unlike anonymisation, pseudonymisation techniques will not exempt controllers from the ambit of GDPR altogether. It does however help People Based Solutions meet our data protection obligations, particularly the principles of ‘data minimisation’
